Your Tampa Offshore Fishing Adventure Awaits!
Offshore Charter Fishing with a Twist in Tampa FL
Welcome to Barotrauma Fishing Charters
At Barotrauma Charters, we run serious offshore fishing trips with a not-so-serious attitude. The fish are big, the laughs are loud, and if something isn’t pulling drag, we’re already moving to the next spot.
Our name might be a nod to what happens when you haul a fish up too fast—but don’t worry, the only thing we’re blowing up around here is your expectations of what a Tampa fishing trip can be.
Offshore is our specialty. Big drops. Hard fights. Grouper, snapper, amberjack—fish that hit like they mean it.
But if the weather kicks up or your crew wants something closer to home, we’ve got nearshore and inshore backup plans that still bend rods and fill coolers.
We’re not out here playing tour guide. We’re out here to fish.
Let’s get after it.

Meet Captain Rob
You want a captain who knows these waters? Rob doesn’t just run trips—he’s lived down here.
As a certified Master Diver, he’s spent years below the surface, studying the reefs, wrecks, and ledges that most anglers only see on sonar. He’s swam with the fish you’re trying to catch. He knows where they live, how they move, and what brings them in.
Above water, he’s put in just as much time chasing them with a rod. Decades of offshore experience mean he’s dialed into the bite and knows when it’s time to move, drop, or drop the hammer.
Fishing Tampa Bay
One of the Most Dynamic Fisheries on the Gulf
Tampa Bay isn’t just a pretty postcard—it’s one of the most productive stretches of water on the Gulf Coast.
Between the nearshore reefs, deep offshore ledges, and everything in between, this fishery offers a little bit of everything depending on the time of year and what’s biting.
Some days we’re dropping baits 40 miles out for snapper and amberjack. Other days? We’re working wrecks just offshore and filling the box without burning a tank of fuel.
It’s a choose-your-own-adventure kind of place, and we love it for that.
No matter the season, there’s always something pulling—you just need to know where to look. Lucky for you, we do.
